The project is aimed at identifying and functionally characterizing cellular proteins that are essentially involved in the replication process of hepatitis C virus (HCV). Along this line, we follow two major aims: (i) To gain important information on non-viral molecular determinants of the life cycle of the important human pathogen HCV, and (ii) to define novel targets for antiviral procedures.
