We have demonstrated that the cold shock proteins Y-box binding protein-1 (YB-1) and its homologue, DNA binding protein A (DbpA), are abundant serum proteins. By ELISA, we observed a linear relationship between both proteins, despite them being secreted independently of one another. This project aims to establish how extracellular cold shock proteins form complexes and to determine their physiological activites.
