Founded in 2008, the International Max Planck Research School on Retaliation, Mediation and Punishment (IMPRS REMEP) is a research and teaching network between the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg), the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History (Frankfurt), the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law (Freiburg) and the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology (Halle) as well as the University of Freiburg and the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. REMEP provides unique multi- and interdisciplinary training and research opportunities for university graduates who wish to work towards a doctoral degree in the fields of law and social sciences. At the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology the partners of this school are the Departments "Integration and Conflict" and "Law & Anthropology".
