« Forschungslandschaft: Projekte

The project investigates vibration-induced phenomena in granular materials, such as heating up the granular temperature, maintaining the granular temperature, spatial inhomogeneities of granular gases (clustering) and phase separation (Leidenfrost phenomenon in granular gases). The experiments are performed in microgravity on parabolic flights. An ISS experiment is in preparation. The contribution of the Magdeburg group is experiments with ensembles of shape-anisotropic grains adn their evaluation.
