Convective drying of microalgae

Microalgae are an evolving raw material for various applications, including extraction of food components. In this frame, the influence of drying on total lipid content and lipid composition is investigated. The aim is to identify process conditions that lead to a high yield of nutritionally valuable (omega-type) lipids.
