Event - Sixth Platform Event of RIM Plus
Termin:
14.09.2016
Fördergeber:
Europäische Kommission : Horizon 2020
It is widely acknowledged that breakthrough technologies such as advanced materials and nanotechnology can contribute to the modernisation of European industrial base.
The preliminary findings of the forthcoming thematic paper which is currently being prepared in the framework of RIM Plus initiative clearly show positive developments in the composites industry. The existing evidence also points to new industrial applications being developed and commercialised on the basis of nanotechnology that still remains to a large extent the niche area. The biggest challenge yet is to ensure the maximum uptake of these technologies by the various industries and especially the SMEs sector.
Building upon the successful event, which took place on 16 December 2015 in Brussels and initiated the thematic discussion on lightweight manufacturing1 , the RIM Plus is bringing together the key stakeholders from Upper Austria, Saxony, Eastern Netherlands, Silesia and Liberec, including the economic operators as well as representatives of relevant excellence networks.
The following cooperation topics for finding joint solutions developed by partners of the participating organisations will be discussed:
1. mechanical processing of fibre-reinforced composites and hybrid solutions;
2. production process of thermoplastics composites;
3. textile reinforced cellular plastics and composites;
4. manufacturing and processing of hybrid textile reinforced composites;
5. functional composites and lightweight materials; and
6. metal, polymer, and ceramic coatings.
The event is targeted at clusters (including company representatives), RTOs and regional authorities.
14th September 2016, 09.00- 15.00, Brussels
