We investigate photoswitching of interfaces between liquid crystals and solid of liquid substrates. Using photoactive dendrimeric surfactants, we manipulate the anchoring energy of the liquid crystal. The effects of photoswitching are studied in bulk as well as in restricted geometry, such as droplets and other colloidal systems.
