The use of modern machine learning and artificial intelligence methods in process engineering is investigated. This is done exemplarily for drying applications, especially for droplet spray drying. Moreover, combustion of biomaterials in fluidized bed equipment is analyzed by using both, experimental and synthetic (computational fluid dynamics) data.
