Die Technische Mechanik ist heute mehr ein Querschnittsgebiet, welches u.a. in enger Verbindung zur Werkstoffwissenschaft Modelle des Werkstoffverhaltens in eine für den Computer verständlich Form bringt. Strukturen, Bauteile etc. werden anschließend bezüglich ihres Spannungs-Verformungsverhaltens auf der Basis kommerzieller Software unter Berücksichtigung der formulierten Konstitutivgesetze analysiert. Dabei ist insbesondere das Grenzverhalten zu bewerten. Aufgaben der Technischen Mechanik sind heute oftmals Mehrfeldprobleme. Neben mechanischen Effekten sind thermische, elektrische, magnetische Effekte einzubeziehen. Ursprünglich auf Festkörper beschränkt werden heute die Grenzen insbesondere zur Strömungsmechanik (Rheologie) überschritten. Daher spricht man auch oftmals von einem kontinuumsmechanischen Zugang.Profil • Service
